Site Work, Pad Sites & Grading in the Texas Hill Country
Cut, fill, and finish grading that leaves your builder a pad they can actually build on.
Everything you build sits on the ground under it. A pad that isn’t compacted, a building site that drains toward the house, or bad dirt left in place under a foundation can cause problems for years.
Tierra Linda Services prepares pad sites and building sites for homes, barns, and shops. We rough in and fine-grade so drainage works the way it’s supposed to, haul off what doesn’t belong, and leave a pad your builder can build on.

Done Right Below the Surface
On one recent project, the existing soil wasn’t fit to build on, so we dug out four feet of bad dirt and brought in 3,500 tons of base, which took 136 semi loads. It’s not the visible part of a project, but it’s the part that decides whether a foundation holds up.
We also think about water from the start. Hill Country rain comes hard and fast, and a site graded to shed water properly saves you from erosion, standing water, and foundation trouble later.

Finishing the Last Mile of a New Build
A house isn’t really done until it has a driveway and finish grading. We’ve worked with homeowners through the whole build, including one customer who managed their entire project from across the state, handling the site prep at the start and the driveway and final grading at the end.
What Affects the Cost of Site Work
- Size of the pad or building area
- How much cut and fill the slope requires
- Soil conditions, and whether unsuitable material has to be removed and replaced
- Rock in the ground
- How much base material has to be brought in, or whether rock on site can be crushed into base
Every site is different, so we price it after seeing it. Request a quote to set up a visit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you work from my builder’s plans?
Yes. Share your plans or your builder’s pad requirements, and we’ll prepare the site to match.
What if the soil on my site is bad?
We remove unsuitable soil and replace it with compacted base so your foundation sits on solid ground.
Do you do finish grading after the house is built?
Yes. We handle finish grading and drainage around completed homes, often together with a new driveway.
Can you clear the lot first?
Yes. We can handle land clearing and grubbing first, then move straight into grading.
